I've had other Carhartt coats previously and I've purchased them in Large - Tall. This parka is replacing my Carthartt C55 jacket. Based upon how this coat looked in the product pictures, I rolled the dice and purchased just the large (not the tall version) and it fits perfectly. As far as adjustability goes, there are a couple of things you'll want to play with. One is the elasticity around the waistband and the other is the hood. The hood has two adjustments. One is a velcro adjustment and the other is an elastic pull cord. After a few minutes of playing with the adjustments, I got this parka and hood to fit absolutely perfect on me. The biggest complain I hear from others is the hood not fitting well. Be sure you play with those adjustments that I mentioned!The only thing that I'd ding Carhartt on with this parka is that the zippers are not brass like they are on some of the other coats I've owned from them. Other than that, this parka is extremely warm and does the job!
